Second victim in deadly New Bedford fire identified

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The second victim killed a New Bedford fire earlier this week been identified.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has identified the victim as Wayne Bourdon, 63. Bourdon was a resident of the building.

Bourdon’s body was recovered a day after the Tuesday fire on Achushnet Avenue.

Another man, 59-year-old Manuel Moreira, was also killed in the blaze.

The building that has been demolished was used as a housing complex.

Dozens of residents have been displaced and the city earlier Friday announced a fund to assist those victims.

Fire investigators have ruled the cause to be accidental.
