Secretary of state reminds voters how to vote in Sept. 5 special elections

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Secretary of State Gregg Amore said voters should know how to vote in the upcoming special elections for the 1st Congressional District, 1st State Senate District, and Foster Town Council on Sept. 5.
Amore said that early voting is ongoing and will continue through 4 p.m. on Sept 5.
Early voting locations and information on specific communities can be found on the Department of State’s website.
Amore said that mail-in ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Sept. 5. Mail-in ballots should be dropped off at a secure elections drop box or polling place.
Voters can find their nearest drop box using the Drop Box Locator tool on the Department of State website.
Amore added that polling places will be closed on Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day.
Voters planning to vote on Sept. 5 will need to bring a photo I.D.
