Senate to Confirm Amy Coney Barrett to Supreme Court
R.I. Senator Reed Opposes Nomination

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLNE)- The Senate is set to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court by the end of the day Monday.
Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed spoke on the floor Sunday in opposition to her nomination. He says he isn’t satisfied with his questioning of Judge Barrett. He says the process has been rushed and irregular.
In a pandemic, he thinks it “wrongly prioritizes one person’s lifetime appointment of the health and welfare of the American people.”
Still Democrats have no real power to stop the vote and she is likely to be confirmed today.
