Senate to vote to resume the process of Gov. Raimondo’s confirmation on Monday

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLNE)- The U.S. Senate will be having a procedural vote to move the process of confirming Gov. Gina Raimondo as U.S. Secretary of Commerce forward.

The vote was originally supposed to happen earlier this month, but Senator Ted Cruz along with other Republicans put a pause on the process.

The Senate’s Monday schedule states that they will be voting on resuming the process.

A final vote will likely occur a few days after Monday’s vote.
