Norton Detective Sergeant Stephen Desfosses honored on Wednesday

NORTON, Mass. (WLNE) – Last week, Norton Police Department announced the tragic death of Detective Sergeant Stephen Desfosses after he battled COVID-19.  On Monday, the department provided arrangement details for Desfosses’s services on Tuesday.

Chief Brian Clark described Desfosses as loyal, trusted, and a dedicated member of the department.  Desfosses held multiple positions, including Detective Division Commander, shift supervisor, training officer, and commanded the award-winning Norton Police Department Honor Guard.

The arrangements are under the care of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, with military and police honors.

In lieu of flowers, Stephen’s family has requested that contributions in his memory be made to the Desfosses Children’s Educational Fund, care of Bluestone Bank, P.O. Box 369, Norton, MA 02766.

Desfosses grew up in Norton and was a 1986 graduate of Norton High School. He proudly served as a member of the United States Army and Army Reserve.

Desfosses served the Norton community for over thirty years.
