Seven displaced by fire in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- Seven people were displaced after a fire broke out in Cranston on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities were called to 139 Wentworth Ave. at around 3 p.m.

The Cranston Fire Department confirmed to ABC6 seven people have been displaced because of the fire, and the Red Cross is was on the scene assisting them.

According to the Red Cross, the families have been provided with comfort kits containing personal care items and post-fire recovery information. They will work with the Red Cross on long-term recovery plans.

There are no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
