PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Shake Shack announced Friday a grand opening date has been set for the chain’s first location in Rhode Island.

The New York-based chain announced their Providence store, located at 249 Thayer Street, will first open its doors Wednesday, March 20th at 11:00 a.m.

“Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day ‘roadside’ burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs (no hormones or antibiotics – ever), fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more,” the company said in a news release.

The Providence location will feature several frozen custards unique to their first Rhode Island store, including “Chocolate Thayer Cake”, featuring chocolate custard, fudge sauce, PVDonuts chocolate sea salt donut and chocolate toffee.
