SHARK WATCH: Area Beaches Reopened
Monday has not turned out to be the ideal beach day, but ABC6 is still on “Shark Watch.”
Chatham Harbor beaches reopened to swimming this weekend, after they had been closed due to a shark sighting last week.
Mariners spotted a 14-foot Great White Shark last Thursday morning in Chatham Harbor, near Tern Island. The East side of South Beach in Chatham is still closed to swimming.
Friday, 3 Great Whites were sighted at Mesquamicut Beach, temporarily shutting down swimming. The beach also reopened over the weekend. So far there have been no new reported shark sightings in the Westerly area.
ABC6 will continue to stay on “Shark Watch,” and keep you up-to-date on all shark related information.
