3rd shooting in Providence in one day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): A man is injured following a shooting in Providence on Saturday night.

Justin Lopez, 24, was walking on Ledge and Charles Streets when he was shot at, according to Providence Police Commander Thomas Verdi.

Lopez lives nearby on Greeley Street and was able to walk there before being transported to Rhode Island Hospital. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Verdi.

No one has been arrested.

This is the third person to be shot in Providence in just one day. A man was shot on W. Friendship Street on Saturday around 2 a.m. Around the same time, police said a victim was shot at the Broadway Express Market in an unrelating shooting. Both victims were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
