WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE)-Two Rhode Island movie theatres announced they will be closing their doors for good.

The Showcase Cinemas at the Warwick Mall will be closing next month.

According to General Manager of the Warwick Mall, Domenic Schiavone, the theater’s lease is up at the end of April.

The theater will consolidate to the location on Quaker Lane at the East Greenwich/Warwick line.

The Bald Hill Road location first closed it’s doors at the start of the pandemic in March.

Additionally, the South Kingstown Cinemas announced in a Facebook post that the theater will not be reopening.

“We would like to thank all of our loyal patrons for the many years you have supported our theater,” the Cinema said in the post. “Unfortunately COVID-19 has made it economically impossible for us to reopen.”
