Sixteen arrested during prostitution sting in Central Falls, Pawtucket

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — Sixteen people were arrested for their connection to a sex-trafficking sting in Pawtucket and Central Falls communities.
On August 18th and 31st, 2017, officers conducted undercover “John Sting” prostitution investigations.
“The goal of the operation was to diminish sex-trafficking which is negatively impacting the quality of life in the neighborhoods bordering both our municipalities,” said Central Falls Police.
Female police officers from Central Falls, Pawtucket, and Cranston posed as prostitutes and were placed in high traffic areas, authorities said.
Renee Hoban, 46, of Pawtucket, was arrested on one count of loitering for prostitution.
The following seven men were picked up on a charge of procurement of sexual conduct for a fee:
- Arthur Messier, 50, of Central Falls
- Eddy Ramirez, 42, of Central Falls
- Fernandel Berard, 35, of Attleboro
- Julio Rodas, 27, of Johnston
- Kevin Valladares, 23, of Pawtucket
- Hilary Wun Meen, 55, of Pawtucket
- Wanker Rene, 33, of Pawtucket
- Ildo Gomes, 51, of Pawtucket
- Amancio Gomes, 42, of Providence
- Ravy Pires, 27, no permanent address
- Angel Vicente, 33, no permanent address
Khary Jones, 33, of Dorchester, M.A. was charged with one count of pandering or permitting prostitution, police noted.
An additional three were charged for soliciting from a motor vehicle for indecent purposes:
- Albert Crawford, 66, of East Providence
- Lawrence Desormier, 51, of Chepachet
- James Doren, 64, of Pawtucket
