SK Officer Relocates Turtle Eggs: Residents Urged to Drive with Caution

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I (WLNE) –  The South Kingstown Police Department is reminding residents to drive with caution as turtles are crossing roadways to lay eggs.

According to the department, after an unfortunate accident on Thursday, a would-be mother snapping turtle was struck by a vehicle.

OfficerJames Tsagaroulis responded and did everything he could to carefully salvage the turtle eggs, and rehouse them in an undisclosed nesting area.

SK Police say this act was something only people who know officer Tsagaroulis would expect him to do.
