Slater Park pumpkin display vandalized

PAWTUCKET, RI- Forty pumpkins smashed, electrical cords stolen, and graffiti greets you at the entrance of ‘Halloween Land' inside Slater Park.
Sometime before Thursday last week, vandals broke in and broke a few spirits.
Park visitor, Robin Socol said, “It's very sad that people would choose to vandalize something for children. It's pretty, pretty low.”
75–year–old Anthony Walsh has barely slept after scrambling for days to salvage what's left of this hand–carved display of pumpkins.
“I felt sick. I just got a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach when I looked at it,” said owner, Anthony Walsh.
Volunteers have managed to repair some of the damage, like the broken ticket booth door. They keep going because of the kids.
“There's nothing more rewarding than to see the looks on kids' faces when they come out of here.”
Walsh is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identity of the vandals.
