Smithfield All Stars beat Nevada 3-1 in Little League World Series
WILLIAMSPORT, P.A. (WLNE) — The Smithfield Little League All Stars defeated Henderson, Nevada 3-1 in their opening game in the Little League World Series Wednesday.
The Rhody boys were led by a stellar pitching performance by Connor Curtis who struck out 15 over 5 1/3 innings, allowing just one run.
Smithfield were able to push three runs across despite only garnering one-hit.
Smithfield, who is representing the Metro Region, will next play Tennessee Friday at 3 p.m. on ESPN.
