Smithfield chips in to support beloved school therapy dog “Kobe”
SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE)- A Smithfield High School teacher has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay for the medical costs of Kobe, a beloved therapy dog.
Kobe has been having seizures and could have a brain tumor. He assists Krissy Luongo and her students everyday.
“Even during the pandemic, Kobe attended Google Meets with me everyday, just to ensure that my students had something to look forward to,” say Luongo.
She said she had to turn to GoFundMe because the pandemic has affected so many animals and the chances of receiving a grant are slim.
So far, over $3,000 has been raised for Kobe.
