Winter Storm Warnings For The Area
Heavy snow at times overnight, with some mixing at the coast by daybreak. (Snow, sleet and rain.) Temperatures rising into the 30s. A WINTER STORM WARNING continues until 1 P.M. Thursday. Also, A High Wind Warning has been issued for gusts 50 to 60 mph, elsewhere gusts 35-45 mph can be expected.
Snow tomorrow morning, mixing at the coast. Precipitation will taper of from West to East during the afternoon. Temps will drop all day after morning high temperatures in the 30s. Anything wet and slushy will freeze during the afternoon with the rapid drop in temperature. Fluffy snow away from the coast, a wet snow at the coast. Isolated power outages possible once the winds pick up overnight and early tomorrow morning. 8-12″ expected for the majority area, while the immediate coastline will be in a 4-8″ range. A few locations for Northwest RI may have over a foot of snow.
Cold Friday and Saturday, 30s during the day, teens and 20s at night. Cloudy with 40s Sunday.
