Somerville hit-and-run leaves one seriously injured

SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WLNE)- Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a call Monday night for reports of a pedestrian struck in Somerville at the intersection of Mystic Avenue and Shore Drive.

According to the police report, the driver of the vehicle sped away on Mystic Avenue after striking the pedestrian. The victim, a 33-year-old man from Somerville, was lying on the sidewalk with serious injuries. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and remains there.

Police located the vehicle where it is currently being evaluated for evidence.
