South Kingstown police asking for witnesses in deadly car vs pedestrian incident
Police in South Kingstown are asking for anyone who may have witnessed a deadly car vs pedestrian accident on March 27 to come forward.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI (WLNE) – Police in South Kingstown are asking for anyone who may have witnessed a deadly car vs pedestrian accident on March 27 to come forward.
South Kingstown police said they responded to Middlebridge Road around 7:30 p.m. March 27 for a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a car.
Police say the victim later died from their injuries and the driver was arrested.
“We are also looking to speak with individuals who may not have observed the accident, but were present during the accident and its immediate aftermath,” officer Michael Sousa said in a statement. “Specifically, we are looking to speak with individuals who have not been spoken to by a member of the South Kingstown Police Department.”
Sousa says the investigation revealed there may have been some video footage recorded after the crash. Police would like to obtain that footage to help with the investigation.
