Southern Rhode Island Hit Hard By Tropical Storm Henri

Tropical storm Henri did signifigant damage before winding down into what was a tropical depression by Sunday night, specifically in Southern Rhode Island.

On the Richmond-West Kingston line, a tree brought down between two houses, only causing damage to power lines. It missed mailboxes, cars, and houses by inches.

In Saunderstown on Indian Trail, another tree cut down by the storm yanking power lines so hard, a connected power pole collapsed.

Driving conditions were dangerous when the sun went down. On the dark Gardner Road in Exeter, a collapsed tree built a wall across the two lane street. Cars were seen through the brush turning around.

National Grid crews were out late in Coventry on Wisteria Drive, as a power line ran across a yard and street.
