Sox Say Cameron Not Ready to Return

NEW YORK (AP) – Red Sox manager Terry Francona says outfielder

Mike Cameron isn't quite ready to return to the team.

Cameron is experiencing some tenderness in a different area of

his injured abdomen, and Francona says he just wants to make sure

he's ready to go when he comes off the disabled list.

Cameron worked with a trainer on Monday at Fenway Park and is

expected to do the same on Tuesday. Francona says he could play

another rehab game on Wednesday at Double-A Portland.

The Red Sox put Cameron and Jacoby Ellsbury on the 15-day DL on

April 20.

Ellsbury, who has a bruised chest, is scheduled to play in the

outfield for Portland on Tuesday. Francona says they will decide

the next step for Ellsbury when he rejoins the team in Boston on

Wednesday.
