Sox Send Lars And Others To Pawtucket, Set Rotation

ROSTER MOVES: Prior to their Spring Training game against the Mets today, the Red Sox optioned catcher Luis Exposito, shortstop Jose Iglesias and infielder Yamaico Navarro to Triple-A Pawtucket. The club also optioned first baseman Lars Anderson to Triple-A Pawtucket and reassigned outfielder Juan Carlos Linares to minor league camp after the game. With today's moves, the Red Sox now have 43 players in Big League Camp, including 34 players from the 40-man roster and nine non-roster invitees.
ROTATION ANNOUNCED: Manager Terry Francona yesterday named Jon Lester as Boston's starter for the team's 2011 regular season opener against the Rangers on Friday, April 1 in Texas. Francona announced the rest of the starting rotation today, with John Lackey taking the mound for the Red Sox on April 2 and Clay Buchholz starting the final game of the opening series on April 3. After an off day, the Red Sox will travel to Cleveland for a three-game set where Josh Beckett will get the start on Tuesday, April 5, followed by Daisuke Matsuzaka on April 6 and Lester on April 7. Lackey is slated to start Boston's home opener at Fenway Park against the Yankees on April 8 at 2:05 p.m.
