Spice product recalled for salmonella

TJX Companies is forced to recall one of their spice products because it may be contaminated with salmonella.

Framingham based TJZ Companies, which owns TJ Maxx, Marhsalls, and Homegoods, is recalling the “ecoato” brand Sweet Paprika Powder.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) tested some samples of the powder and found traces of salmonella.

The Company immediately alerted its stores to remove the product from store shelves.

The affected powder has an expiration date of October 2015 and a lot number of 8147.

The company says no illnesses have been reported.
