A mayor in Massachusetts is making a pitch for the PawSox.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno says he’s met face-to-face with PawSox owner Larry Lucchino about bringing the team to Western Massachusetts, luring them with a brand new 11,000 seat stadium.

When reached for comment, a spokesperson for the PawSox says the team is focused on preparing for the 2016 season at McCoy Stadium and continue to listen to plans and ideas about what’s best for the long-term future of the club.
