St. Joseph’s Hospital to be donated with plans to turn it into a school

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – As part of the city’s amended school capital plan, the St. Joseph’s Hospital building will be donated with plans to turn it into a school for the city.

The details of the donation will be made more apparent in an afternoon press conference hosted by Mayor Elorza.

Also attending the event is  St. Joseph’s property owner and former Mayor of Providence, Joe Paolino,  State education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green, Council President Sabina Matos, Councilwoman Mary Kay Harris, Providence School Superintendent Harrison Peters, and Chief Executive Officer of StudioJAED Philip Conte.

The details of the capital plan will be announced at 2:30.
