An overnight standoff at a residence in North Attleboro is now over. Police were able to convince a man inside 93 Bank St. to surrender just before 5 am Monday.
According to Massachusetts State Police the man had barricaded himself inside with a gun. The immediate area was shut down as a heavy police presence swarmed the area. Local police, Troopers with the Tactical Entry Team and a negotiator were called in to assist.
The situation came to a peaceful conclusion. A man who identified himself as the step-son of the man in question told reporters everyone was okay and that his step-father is now with police.
No further information was available.
