State police air wing unit drops water over Mount Pisgah wildfire

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said their air wing unit assisted in fighting a wildfire at the Mount Pisgah Conservation Area.

Officials said wildfires are unplanned fires that burn in natural areas like forests and grasslands, which can spread quickly and can devastate wildlife and natural areas and threaten nearby homes.

In the video shared by state police, a helicopter can be seen loading, then dumping water on charred, smoking brush.

A perimeter of flames could also be seen through the trees.
