State police respond to East Providence interstate crash

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police responded to a reported crash on I-195 in East Providence Monday night.

ABC6 News crews were on the scene where a Nissan SUV was being loaded onto a tow truck.

Photographs from the scene show the silver SUV with broken windows and heavy damage to its roof.

Police and fire officials were also on the scene blocking two lanes of traffic while they worked to clear the wreck.

ABC6 News reached out to Rhode Island State Police for comment on possible causes and reported injuries but have yet to hear back.
