State Police seized over 1,500 oxycodone pills in a traffic stop in Route 95 in West Greenwich Tuesday.

Police say they pulled over Edgar O. Alicea-DeJesus, 31, of New York and his passenger Abdiel Pinto, 31, of New Britain, CT, for a speeding violation driving northbound.

Both men gave conflicting stories regarding their point of origin, destination, and relationship.

Alicea-DeJesus agreed to a search and police located a trapped door had been cut into the top of the air tank with electrical leads attached.

Once at the barracks, police located 1,585 pills at a value of $47,550.

Both men were charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Oxycodone).

Pinto was also wanted under an alias name of Rafael Gonzalez on a Newport County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the Original Charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver originating from the Tiverton Police Department.
