State Police seize stolen handgun, armor-piercing rounds during traffic stop

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – Rhode Island State Police arrested three individuals on weapons charges following a traffic stop in Warwick Thursday.

State Police said the vehicle was stopped on East Avenue in Warwick after troopers observed the vehicle driving erratically on route 95 North and on Route 113 in Warwick.

During the traffic stop a State Police Trooper recovered a handgun previously reported stolen, along with illegal armor-piercing bullets and a bulletproof vest.

The suspects, indentified as: Jerome Joseph, 48, of Brockton MA; Figaro Voguel, 42, of Hyde Park MA; and Anaika Claudia-Nicole Whyles, 27, of Lewiston ME; were arrested and held overnight at the ACI in Cranston pending arraignment.
