Storms make commutes dicey – stay Weather Aware
We have two rounds moving through today- early morning hours and then again in the afternoon/evening
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Today we are going to stay Weather Aware as we have some heavy rounds of thunderstorms moving through Southern New England.
As we get past the first round of storms, we will get a mix of some sunshine and clouds, and with dew points running high, in the 70s, the sun will help with the instability in the atmosphere that is conducive for more severe storms. When you add in a surface Low and rotation of winds then we have the right conditions for the development of tornadoes. Now, I’m not saying we will have any, but you should remain aware as we head through the day, because the atmosphere is favorable.
You need to keep your eyes to the sky and stay aware through the day in case things change and get worse. If they do, have a plan and safe place to go quickly in case you get caught.
