Company spills 4,500 gallons of ethanol
The Department of Environmental Management is investigating circumstances surrounding a spill of 4,500 gallons of ethanol fuel outside a manufacturing company.
Ethanol was being pumped into a truck outside of Aspen Aerogel when the truck over flowed and the chemical spilled out into the parking lot.
Firefighters say it took Aspen Aerogel two and a half hours to alert them to the dangerous spill.
The overflowed ethanol was suppose to drain into a dike outside the building however that did not happen because the drain was blocked by snow and ice.
