Pit bulls will be marching down the streets of
Pawtucket
with pride this weekend in a pit bull parade.

The walk has been scheduled to celebrate a court ruling that declared an ordinance banning the breed in the city invalid.

The walk will set off from the
Slater
Park Dog Park
at 1 p.m. on Sunday and proceed down the street and loop around
Narragansett Avenue
.

It is being hosted by a group called “Pit Bulls for PTSD” which is a non-profit organization that trains the dogs to become service dogs for people suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and autistic children.

The group will also host a free dog training session following the walk. People are asked to not use retractable leashes during the event.
