WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) -

The victim in the January shooting died months later from injuries related to this incident.

Hollands charge was originally felony assault, but now that the victim has died, it became a murder charge.

His charges now include first degree murder charge, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, possession of a firearm after a conviction, and carrying a pistol without a license.

Police say Holland shot Christopher Archambault in the back, leaving him paralyzed below the waist.

But when he died on May 16, Woonsocket police said an autopsy revealed the cause of death to be complications from the shooting.

Police say Holland and Archambault had a history together in the drug business, and that Holland also has an extensive record.
