Blackstone Police Charge Teen for Shooting and Killing Cat with Arrow
BLACKSTONE, Ma: (WLNE): A 17-year-old is charged for allegedly shooting and killing a cat with an arrow, according to the Blackstone Police Department.
The juvenile is charged with:
- Kill/Maim/Poison an Animal (Felony)
- Damaging Personal Property (Felony)
- Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling (Misdemeanor)
- Discharging a Firearm Near a Highway (Misdemeanor)
On August 1, police said they received a report that a cat was shot with an arrow on Mendon Street.
The cat was taken to a local animal hospital before it was transferred to Tufts University's Cummings Veterinary Medical Center in Grafton but the cat was "unable to be saved and needed to be euthanized due to its injuries.''
Blackstone Police received a tip from an individual, who wishes to remain anonymous. That person helped identify the suspect.
That person received a $500 reward as promised by the police for any information leading to an arrest.
