WESTERLY, R.I (WLNE) -The Westerly Police Department identified 58-year-old Westerly resident, Doreen Billman as the victim of Sunday's fatal motorcycle accident. 

According to police, just before midnight on Sunday, they received a call reporting a motorcycle accident in the area of 206 East Avenue. 

Officers arrived to find a single motorcycle off the roadway. 

According to police, the two occupants, Billman, and a male operator had been thrown from the motorcycle and were located a short distance away. 

The male operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where is remains in stable condition. 

Billman was transported to Yale-New Haven Health/Westerly Hospital and did not survive her injuries. 

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling north on East Avenue, and failed to negotiate the corner at Sosoa Lane and left the roadway. 

The accident is still currently being investigated by the Westerly Police Reconstruction Unit.
