PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) -- Plant-based cuisine is bigger than ever these days, and in Providence that trend is putting down new roots.

"The big news right now is Plant City, which is a food hall," said Kristen Adamo of the Providence-Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The brainchild of celebrity chef Matthew Kenney, Plant City has four restaurants under one roof--all featuring totally vegan food and drinks. Since they opened in June, Plant City has seen an influx of folks--and not just vegetarians--intrigued by the meatless menu.

"They're people who are just really curious to see what we're doing and how can you create food that just happens to be free of any animal products," said manager Megan Bresnahan.

I brought along the rest of the morning crew to try some of what plant city has to offer--including pizza, burgers, even nachos!
