NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) – A 40-year-old woman was arrested Friday after police seized 84 pounds of marijuana and around 26 grams of cocaine from her home last year.

Police say around 4 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2018 they responded to a home on Kingswood Road for a breaking and entering call while the residents were in the home.

While officers were clearing the house for any suspects, they saw a large amount of marijuana at the Kingswood Road home

After police responded to the breaking-and-entering incident, they later obtained a search warrant for the home. That is when they seized the 84 pounds of marijuana and 26 grams of cocaine.

Police say during the one-year investigation they found that the breaking-and-entering incident was not a random act. The house was targeted because of the large amount of marijuana inside.

The resident of the home, Sarah Baron, 40, was arrested Friday.

She is being charged with Manufacturing/Possession/Delivery of Marijuana greater than 5 kilos, according to police.

Baron was arraigned in 3rd District Court and her bail was set at $20,000 with surety.

She is due back in court on Dec. 17 in Washington County Superior Court.
