PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): The Providence Hockey Club played for a good cause on Saturday. They held a fundraiser for veterans and a local boy with cancer.

Tickets were sold to support Noah Antunes, 10, a Smithfield boy battling cancer.

The team played against the Mount St. Charles Jr. Mounties.

"They are an amazing family and that little boy has a smile on his face 24/7 and has such a good heart," Erika Allard, a mother of one of the players on the team, said. "So we wanted to do this for him and the family and let them know we are here for them."

Proceeds from the fundraiser also went towards Operation Stand Down, an organization that supports veterans.

The team's coach said they received over 400 items in donation boxes for the veterans including clothing and canned food for Thanksgiving.
