WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) - Around 8 p.m. Saturday night Woonsocket Police responded to two men being shot on 558 East School Street.

While in the scene police state that the two men were brothers and each was the victim of a single gunshot to their upper arms.

The two victims are cooperating with officials and were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

They were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The men reported to police that they were sitting in the first-floor apartment when an unknown Hispanic male came in showing a firearm and demanding money.  

At that time, one of the victims was already in the process of pushing him out when he was shot.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20’s or 30’s, 5’4” -  5”5”, medium build and wearing a dark sweatshirt or hoodie.

At this time, it appears that police are actively looking for a lone suspect and investigation is ongoing.
