Police identify lost elderly woman who forgot her name
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) - Pawtucket Police have identified the elderly woman they found on New Years Day who didn't remember her name.
Detectives in Brooklyn and Pawtucket were able to track down the woman's son who lives in Brooklyn.
The son identified his mother through photographs as 78-year-old Madeline Alioudor.
The son told detectives that the family lost contact a few years ago with his mother, and had not heard or seen her.
Officers were called to Suffolk and Grand Avenue in Pawtucket around 2:45 p.m. New Years Day to check on the well-being of a lost elderly female.
When police arrived they say they spoke with the woman who was confused and disoriented.
She was unable to provide sufficient information to identify who she was or where she lives.
She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Madeline's son was given the contact information for the hospital and her social worker, police said.
