PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) - Smoke and flames came ripping through the roof of a religious artifacts business early on Wednesday morning.

Emergency personnel responded to the reported fire on Broad Street and Wesleyan Avenue around 4:30 a.m.

According to fire crews, the building was packed with incense, oils, and candles, luckily they were able to contain the fire before it spread to a neighboring business in the same building.

Deputy Assistant Chief Brian Mahoney said the department had to overhaul the operation because the incense oiks kept lighting back up, but the fire was knocked down and no injuries were reported.

A lot of artifacts from the store were burned.

Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire and Broad street was re-opened to drivers.
