Woonsocket man sentenced 7 years for near-fatal stabbing
Providence (WLNE)- A 27-year-old Woonsocket man has received a seven-year sentence over a 2015 near-fatal stabbing in Franklin, Massachusetts, the district attorney announced today.
When Keinan McKenna made an unannounced visit to his ex-girlfriend's apartment, he stabbed a male visitor 13 times, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey.
After receiving life-saving first aid from the Franklin police, the victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, were he survived his injuries.
Acting on a witness identification at the scene, Franklin Police contacted Woonsocket, where McKenna was pulled over and taken into custody.
McKenna pleaded guilty to Armed Assault, Assault with Intent to Murder, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
As part of his probation, he is ordered to refrain from contact with the victim, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and will be tested for drug use.
