Fatal pedestrian crash victim identified in Cranston
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): Cranston police have identified the pedestrian killed in in the fatal accident on Dyer Avenue early Saturday night.
A resident of Dyer Avenue, Angelina Cruz Hernandaz, 76, was stuck by a car around 5:30 p.m. and was dead on the scene when police and rescue arrived.
The driver, who remains unidentified, stopped after hitting the Hernandez and cooperated with investigators, according to Chief Michael Winquist.
At this time charges have not been filed against the driver, and police say there were no signs of impairment.
This investigation remains open.
