PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) -- Eateries across our area are hoping folks will escape the chilly January weather and enjoy a hot meal during Providence Restaurant Weeks.

Nearly 100 restaurants from Downtown Providence to Warwick are taking part in the two-week event. You can enjoy all sorts of cuisine--from Italian to Mexican, Asian fusion to classic American--all at some pretty deep discounts.

"There's a lot of newcomers this year. All the Gregg's locations are participating. There's a restaurant Maria's Cucina that's participating. Los Andes in Providence," said Christine Phillips of the Providence. "It's a great way for people to try restaurants that they've never been to before, go to some high-end restaurants and know that there's going to be a price point that they can afford."

Deals include a three-course lunch for $16.95 and dinner starting at $29.95, as well as two-for-one specials.

Providence Restaurant Weeks run now through January 25.
