Streetlights Back on in Cranston, Blame Game Begins

The lights are back on in Cranston.

Earlier this year, the city implemented a plan to shut off every third streetlight on city roads in order to save money.  The big shutoffs occurred only within the last few weeks.  Mayor Fung said in a press release today that he felt he had to reverse the program after City Hall was flooded with complaints.

However, now the finger-pointing has begun as the Mayor and the City Council are apparently blaming each other over whose fault it was that the lights were turned off in the first place.

ABC6 Reporter Erin Logan has the story from Cranston.
