Strong storms possible Wednesday

It’s been a great weather weekend here in SNE but a low pressure system with it’s associated fronts will be bringing some changes to the area for the middle of the week.

Tuesday we will see increasing clouds with humidity levels rising and the breeze picking up through the afternoon. Sometime after midnight the rain chances develop. Rain will last through much of the day Wednesday with isolated storms also possible. With the storms there is the potential for torrential rain and gusty winds. Rain totals could be anywhere from 1-2″ which is prompted the NWS to issue a Flash Flood Watch for Providence County starting late Tuesday through Wednesday. Urban and poor drainage areas may experience flooding conditions.

So far this August we have only received 0.19″ of rain, which is just about a 1″ deficit for the month.

Rain and storms will clear out by late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning and we will see sunshine and cooler more comfortable conditions to end the work week.
