Students Rally for Passage of DREAM Act

College students rallied at Brown University today to urge passage of the DREAM Act, which would create a path to citizenship for the children of illegal immigrant parents.

Several students who are themselves the children of illegal immigrants urged Senators Reed and Whitehouse to vote for the bill, saying that it was designed to give those students a fair chance to become a productive member of society.  They argue that current policies punish students for decisions their parents made – in some cases decades ago.

ABC6 Reporter John Guice was at the event and has the story in Tonight's Voice of the People Report.
