StyleWeek Returns on Small Scale

Event to Highlight Arts in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – StyleWeek returns tonight on a small scale.  Celebrating the arts in the city of Providence.

Like so many others, the fashion event canceled shows in the spring and again in the summer because of coronavirus.  It was especially difficult as StyleWeek celebrates it’s 10th anniversary this year.

For a group of budding young designers from The Lincoln School, it was an added disappointment as they had been working on collections to show as part of a contest called SEED where they are judged by industry professionals.

StyleWeek’s Founder, Rosanna Ortiz, determined to keep the arts alive in the city of Providence, put together a small show for tonight.  It will give them a chance to show off their creations in a runway show also featuring Rhode Island handbag designer Kent Stetson.

If you’ve never been to StyleWeek and always wondered what it’s like, you can watch a livestream of the event here.

StyleWeek plans to be back with regular shows in May 2021.
