Suffolk County correctional officer accused of assaulting teens

By News Staff

A Suffolk County Correctional Officer has been placed on leave after police say he assaulted a teenager Sunday night.

Four teenagers told police they were sitting in a vehicle parked near the beach in the Juniper Road area when they were approached by a man, identified as 43-year-old Jeffrey Parillo, who then told them he was a police officer.

When they questions his legitimacy, the teens say that’s when Parillo pulled one of the teens out of the car and began and striking him.

The teens say they went to help their friend and held Parillo to the ground before police arrived. During the altercation, the victims found a .380 caliber handgun, belonging to Parillo, which was seized by police.

Parillo was arrested and charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and carrying a firearm while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was arraigned Monday and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
