PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Excitement was in the air at Hasbro Children’s Hospital Tuesday, as window washers dressed as superheroes scaled the building.

Captain America, Batman and Spider-Man all made appearances from several stories high.

As with all superheroes, these ones have secret identities: they’re window washers with Fish Window Cleaning in Warwick.

Once a year, they pull double duty, getting the windows to sparkle while adding a sparkle to the kids’ eyes.

“They get pretty thrilled,” said David Cotter, who owns Fish Window Cleaning. “We usually get a lot of phone calls at the office, thanking us for doing the event, so it feels pretty good.”

A touching moment, where these kids – who have gone through so much – can just be kids.

“This is very uplifting to the kids who are not feeling well,” explained Stefanie Ruiz, whose son Damien is a patient at Hasbro. “Obviously they’re here because they’re not at their best state but this just brings a smile to their faces to see the kids right across the window they’re so excited.”

This marks the fourth year Fish Window Cleaning has switched out their normal uniforms to don capes and masks.
